Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards' Statement Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of September 11th

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards (D-MD) released the following statement to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

"This Sunday, we commemorate the 10th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks; a day that left a lasting impression on the American people, this nation, and the world.  As we relive the memories, emotions, and images of that day, it is important that we come together as a nation to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones lost, including 63 Marylanders.  We remember the bravery of America's emergency responders and those passengers on United Airlines Flight 93, whose heroism and dedication to others helped save countless lives.  On this day let us also pay tribute to the thousands of service men and women, and their families, who serve and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service and defense of this country in the aftermath of 9/11.

"Today, I joined with my Congressional colleagues in passing House Resolution 391, expressing the sense of the House of Representatives regarding the terrorist attacks launched against the United States on September 11, 2001, on the 10th Anniversary of that date.  I join families and friends in recognizing and honoring victims from communities in Prince George's and Montgomery Counties, and across the country, who lost their lives ten years ago.  Our thoughts and prayers will forever be with them and their loved ones as we honor their courage, their will to survive, and their strength to persevere that they continue to share with the nation."
