After a recent hiatus from the solo spotlight; Kapabal returns to the scene ready to tackle some of the hard hitting issues and realities surrounding his life in recent times with his latest offering - 'The Downside' produced by Tyna and featuring the soulful melodies of one of Long Beach California's legendary talents, 'Bo Roc' of The Dove Shack and G-Funk fame. The Hutt Valley, New Zealand native, now residing in Brisbane, Australia, addresses the realities of dealing with everyday life in an all to familiar world where the aspirations of an illustrious music career are easily placed on the back burner and substituted by the all important priorities of work and family.
Kapabal's lyrics tell the tale of the struggling artist who must balance his aspirations with work and family life; and although he has no interest in stopping he is able to find contentment with his achievements in the industry; having over 10 years experience in the New Zealand Hip Hop scene, 3 albums, countless features, as well as produce a landmark New Zealand Hip Hop DVD series. Kapabals resume and work ethic is proof that while the lure of glitz and glamor may seem praise worthy, its not the be all end all. Sometimes you have to take a break from the constant pursuit of your dreams and really focus on the most important things in life. With that said, and with the up and coming release of a new album, Kapabal is back; better than ever and ready to deliver with his raw take on life and true to life depiction of a musician and family man determined to stay on top of his game!
Brisbane Hip Hop Video Shoot
Impakt featuring J-Slang, Eksel & Prezz
Built For This member Impakt shot his video on the 2nd of August for his forthcoming single Brisbane Hip Hop, featuring 3 artists from diferent crew's from around Brisbane. We travelled to each artists location to film their verse starting with Impakt (Built For This) at Redbank Plains, then J-Slang (Poly Central) at Goodna, then Eksel (4CP) at Coopers Plains and then Prezz (Eleqal Liquid) at Kingston. Was a mean day, sun was out, low-riders cruising, good company, a few drinks and cyphers behind the scenes. Keep an eye out for the video, trust me track is a banger and its features 4 dope artists who originate from New Zealand.
