Fort Washington, MD— December 8, 2014 — Mr. Earl O’Neal, President of South County Economic Development Association, Inc. (SCEDA), announced that SCEDA will host its 12th Annual Awards Christmas Gala on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Martin’s Crosswinds in Greenbelt, MD, from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM. Milt Peterson, Principal of the Peterson Companies, will be the guest speaker. The theme for the event is “Partnering for Economic Growth and Prosperity”, and Denise Rolark Barnes, Publisher of the Washington Informer, will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies.
Mr. O’Neal stated, “This is always a great night in Prince Georges County. In the past, we have enjoyed the presence of our key business, political, educational, and community leaders, and we look forward to continuing this tradition at this year’s event. We are also excited about the SCEDA awards to top business and community achievers.”
Milt Peterson will receive SCEDA’s Leader of The Year award for his efforts in fostering economic development in Prince George’s County. Major General Roger Blunt, President and CEO of Essex Construction Company, will be honored as the business leader of the year. The Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and its Vice President for Strategic Alliances, Jayson T. Williams, along with June Evans the Interim Director for the Prince George’s Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) are among other award recipients.
